I was always fascinated by people’s destinies, including mine. How things can happen from nowhere and your life takes a completely different turn. Why this happens to some people only? How much can you really plan or control?

Take for example Donyale Luna. She was born in Detroit, “a very weird child, even from birth, living in a wonderland, a dream.”  Her mother encouraged her to become a nurse. Instead she was discovered by a photographer and became a famous model and the first African American to grace the cover of Vogue. She starred in Andy Warhol’s movies and in Fellini’s Satyricon.

And then she died at 30, accidentally of an overdose of pills.
